Pataca’s trade-weighted value increases in June

The trade-weighted effective change rate index of the pataca, a measure of the value of the currency against the currencies of Macau’s main trading partners, rose marginally to 103.99 points last month, the Monetary Authority of Macau says. The authority says Macau’s foreign exchange reserves grew by 3.6 per cent to MOP144.1 billion (about US$18.04 billion). This sum was the equivalent of about 12 times the currency in circulation in the city.
