Singapore says no to casinos advertising jackpots

Do casinos advertise players’ losses? No. So why should they advertise winnings on their websites? The point has been made by the Singaporean government, which is taking steps to stop casinos from publicising won jackpots. “You will find that they never publicise the losses and the consequences of those losses on the gamblers and their families,” Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports Vivian Balakrishan said, quoted by Today Online. He added that such practice is “asymmetric and unfair publicity”. For now, there is no timeline for a ban on jackpots publicising in Singapore. In Macau, there are no rules against such a practice.
