Up to 50 VIP gaming rooms may close, report says

About 40 to 50 of Macau’s VIP gaming rooms may close because of the slump in the market, the Macao Daily reports, quoting an unidentified source. The Chinese-language newspaper quotes its source as saying the number of VIP gaming rooms has grown by almost 100 in the past two to three years as  new casinos have opened. The source said some junket operators had turned out to be incapable of collecting debts owed by high-rollers they had brought to Macau.
