VIP operator announces record rolling chip turnover

VIP room gaming promoter Asia Entertainment & Resources Ltd. (AERL) announced unaudited rolling chip turnover for the month of June 2011 was a record US$1.504 billion (MOP12 billion), up 117 percent year-over-year. This was despite the closure of the VIP room at MGM Macau on June 15. The growth compares with a year-over-year increase in gross gaming revenue for Macau of 52 percent for June 2011. For the first six months of 2011, Nasdaq-listed AERL’s rolling chip turnover was US$8.406 billion (an average of US$1.401 billion per month), up 94 percent year-over-year. AERL’s VIP rooms are located at StarWorld, the Venetian Macao and Galaxy Macau.
