The MSAR government will spend a further MOP16 million (US$2.1 million) on monitoring and quality control of the construction of the government’s multi-function building at Pac On. According to a dispatch released yesterday in the Official Gazette, Pengest Internacional -Planeamento Engenharia e Gestão Limitada, the company assigned to monitor the building construction, will receive MOP13.5 million from the government for the project. The amount will be paid in three installments over three consecutive years starting this year. In addition to Pengest, the University of Macau will also receive MOP3.2 million to provide quality control services for the construction of the government building. The service, similarly, will be paid in three installments over three consecutive years starting this year. According to earlier announcements made by the Infrastructure Development Office, the government building to be constructed is intended to be around 50 metres high. The reclaimed land plot O1, where the multi-function building will be situated, is located at the junction of Estrada do Pac On and Rua da Felicidade, occupying an area of 4,392 square metres.
