5.6-magnitude quake hits northern Morocco

A 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit northern Morocco on Friday, said the Moroccan Institute of Geophysics in a statement.

No casualties have been reported so far.

The tremor, whose epicenter was recorded off the coast of the province of Driouch, occurred at 1:35 p.m. (1235 GMT), the statement said.

The epicenter was at the depth of 17 km and the quake was felt in the Provinces of Nador and El Hoceima, it added.
