8th public mask purchase round to start on April 2

Health authorities announced that the eight health make purchase round will start on April 2.

Conde de São Januário Hospital Doctor Lo Iek Long indicated today (Wednesday)that some six million makes were sold in the 7th round, with about 40 million sold in total so far.

In cooperation with the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ), young volunteers will be used to assist in distributing masks.

As usual local residents and non-residents are allowed to purchase 10 facemasks for MOP8 (US$1). The eight-round also provides masks for children aged 3 to 8 years old, with residents able to purchase five children masks and five adult masks.

Masks can be purchased in 56 designated pharmacies, eight health centres in Macau and Taipa, and two health stations in Coloane, as well as 18 selling points run by the Macau Federation of Trade Unions, Macau General Union of Neighbourhood Associations and Macau Women’s General Association

Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong revealed last week at the Legislative Assembly (AL) today the government mask supply at the time could last until a 10th public purchase round.
