Angola: Capital market commission registers seven new investment funds in August

The Angolan Capital Market Commission (CMC) registered seven new special investment funds in securities in the first ten days of August, increasing to 30 Collective Investment Undertakings (OICs) registered with the institution.

According to a statement published by the Angolan Finance Ministry, to which Lusa had access on Tuesday, the new funds are under the management of BAI Gest and BFA Gestão de Ativos S.A, which is responsible for six of the new funds.

The CMC “has registered BAIGEST Obrigações Mais II, a special closed-end securities investment fund of public subscription. BFA Private II and BFA Private III which are authorised to be issued through the management company BFA Gestão de Ativos S.A”, the note reads. 

BFA (Banco Fomento Angola) also has four special closed public securities investment funds, the document said.

The OIC industry, the CMC said, “has shown a growing trend. Of the total number of 30 OICs registered with the CMC, “23 correspond to securities investment funds, three real estate investment funds and four real estate investment companies. 

The CMC is a body supervised by the Ministry of Finance, responsible for regulating, supervising, inspecting and promoting the Securities and Derivatives Markets. 

One of CMC’s missions is to contribute so that the Securities and Derivatives Market is established and “evolves as the preferential alternative for capitalization and financing” of the State and Companies.
