Around 900 foreigners expelled from Angola in the last week – SME

Luanda, Angola – Angola’s Foreign and Migration Service (SME) expelled 899 foreign nationals last week for “judicial and administrative decision” and seized 109 citizens for “permanence and aid to illegal immigration,” official.

According to the SME, six foreign nationals were also notified and “invited to leave” Angola from 19 to 27 December for “illegal stay”.

The weekly SME report said that during the last week 21 foreign nationals, mostly for falsification of travel documents, were prevented from entering the country and “consequently reshipped”.

The Angolan authorities also note that 11 national citizens were prevented from leaving Angola, due to lack of means of subsistence and lack of parental leave, among other reasons.

Regarding the migratory movement, the SME registered the entry of 29,876 people, of whom 16,574 were Angolan citizens and the remaining foreigners, and the departure of 41,770 people, of which 16,905 were Angolan citizens.
