Casino workers earn over MOP25,000 on average

Full-time casino workers saw their pay rise 6.8 per cent year on year to an average of MOP25,290 (US3,138) in December last year, as per the Statistics and Census Service.

As of the last quarter of 2023, as many as 51,771 were employed in the gaming sector, down by over 400 a year earlier.

There were a total of 23,359 dealers on a wage of MOP20,870 on average, up 5.4 per cent compared to the previous year.

The rise is down to them being placed on furlough in the same period in 2022.

The four quarter of last year added 387 vacancies amide a recruitment rate of 2 per cent and a turnover rate of 1.6 per cent.
