The ‘C Shop’ located in Nam Van, an outlet selling ‘cultural and creative’ products, is now run directly by Macau’s Cultural Bureau, Business Daily has confirmed with the government.
C Shop, located opposite the New Yaohan department store in downtown Macau, resumes operation today, the Bureau has announced.
C Shop was operated by local design house MO-Design Lda, whose lease to run the space expired in February last year but was extended for three months. The property was then renovated by the Bureau pending a renewed operation.
In a statement released yesterday, the Cultural Bureau noted that C Shop is now a display centre selling over a hundred types of ‘cultural and creative’ products collected from local design outlets, including tourist souvenirs, clothing, books and household wares.
The operation of C Shop is now themed with the Bureau’s ‘Macao Cultural and Creative Map’ – a tourist brochure and a mobile phone application that illustrates the city’s design houses and other cultural and creative businesses.
C Shop will also serve as a counter selling tickets for local arts performances, the Bureau said.
