Macau (MNA) – Over 1,500 private housing units were presented and approved in 2017, while construction started on 606 units started, the Land, Public Works and Transport (DSSOPT) said in a note on Tuesday.
Official data discloses that four hotel projects were completed, adding 1,265 rooms to the territory’s portfolio. DSSOPT said there were requests of inspection of 1,893 units, while 4,318 housing projects obtained a licence.
The DSSOPT said that during the last quarter of 2017 four private housing projects obtained had obtained a licence, providing 351 homes.
The information states that 94 housing projects are currently under construction or completed, providing 10,619 units. In addition, some 200 residential development projects are planned, adding an estimated 20,529 units.
Regarding the hospitality sector a total of 20 hotel projects are under construction, adding 9,139 more rooms to the sector upon completion. There are plans to develop 27 new hotels, providing 5,043 rooms, said DSSOPT.
