Macau should learn from Portugal when it comes to youth entrepreneurship – CE

Macau (MNA) – The Chief Executive (CE) of the Macau SAR, Fernando Chui Sai On, said on the first official day of his visit to Portugal that the city should learn from the European country when it comes to youth entrepreneurship and strengthen its youth exchanges.

The CE has arrived in Portugal on Saturday but has started his official trip to the country in Lisbon on May 12, with the local head of government to also pass through Portugal’s second largest city, Porto.

Today Chui Sai On stated that by tightening the relations with the European country, Macau could develop its role as a Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

After his arrival in Lisbon, the CE met with the Ambassador of China in Portugal, Cai Run, to discuss strengthening the relations between China and Portugal, as well as Macau’s role as a bridge and platform between China and Portugal, a government release on Monday informed.

The ambassador added that the Portuguese government hoped to find new cooperation opportunities by taking part in the development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

The CE will visit Lisbon and Porto until May 19, with meetings scheduled with Portuguese President, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and Prime Minister, António Costa.

He will also chair the sixth meeting of the Macau-Portugal Joint Commission.
