Macau to host meeting of Portuguese-speaking countries bankers this month – Bank of China

The Director-General of the Bank of China Department of Financial Institutions told Lusa that the Macau Association of Banks will host a meeting for managers and leaders of banks based in Portuguese-speaking countries later this month.

“At the end of this month we will hold a seminar to promote cooperation between Portuguese-speaking commercial banks and Macau in a meeting for which we invited all the bank associations in Lusophone African countries, plus commercial and investment departments,” Wendy Sun Min told Lusa.

In an interview with the Bank of China’s Macau delegation, the official responsible for relations with international financial institutions indicated that Portuguese central bank governor, Carlos Costa, and São Tomé and Príncipe’s counterpart, Américo Barros, are two confirmed presences at a conference that will take place this month in Macau.

“During the event, a high-level seminar, everyone will be able to share information and ideas on how to build long-term relationships,” said Wendy Sun Min, adding that the idea is not only to have central banks to participate but also ” the main bankers of commercial banking to exchange ideas. “
