National Art Museum of China artworks in exhibition at Macau Museum of Art

Macau (MNA) – The Macau Museum of Art (MAM) has opened an exhibition some of the National Art Museum of China classic artworks.

The exhibition inaugurated on May 3 is titled “Beauty in the New Era: Masterpieces from the Collection of the National Art Museum of China” and will be on display until July 28.

Located at the 4th floor of MAM it will make available to the local public 90 masterpieces by 14 modern and contemporary Chinese artists, such as Qi Baishi, Zhang Daqian, Xu Beihong, Liu Haisu, Lin Fengmian, Fu Baoshi and Li Keran.

It is also divided two sections, namely “Nourishing Chinese Art with Western Aesthetics” and “Innovating Tradition”, explaining how these artists combined Chinese and Western techniques incorporated them with traditional art techniques.

The exhibition is part of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of the Macau’s handover to
China.

It is also included in the 30th Macao Arts Festival (MAF), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).
