No new confirmed coronavirus cases in last four days

Health authorities have confirmed that no new confirmed coronavirus case has been reported in Macau from January 27 until 8:00am today.

On January 27 the seventh coronavirus case was confirmed in Macau a 67-year-old female Wuhan resident.

All seven confirmed cases – all Wuhan residents – are in stable conditions and are still under medical observation at the contagious diseases isolation unit of the Conde S. Januario Hospital.

There are currently 20 people under isolation at the Coloane Public Health Center, located on Estrada do Alto de Coloane, for medical observation purposes, among which are 19 people who had close contact with confirmed cases but that have not displayed fever or other symptoms, plus one person awaiting test confirmation to rule out infection but in a stable situation.

The World Health Organization declared a global emergency over the new coronavirus, as China reported today that the death toll had climbed to 213 with nearly 10,000 infections.

A total of 12 confirmed cases have so far been reported in Hong Kong.
