October gross gaming revenue down 10.7 per cent year on year

Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) slipped 10.7 per cent year on year to about MOP3.9 billion (US$ 481 million) last month, according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).

The latest figures from DICJ show that the October result gained 31.6 per cent compared to a month earlier.

However, October’s MOP3.9 billion contrasted sharply with the same period in 2019, when DICJ logged gross gaming revenue of MOP26.4 billion, which means an 85-per cent fall.

As for the first ten months of the year, the gross gaming revenue combined plunged 50.5 per cent year on year to MOP35.7 billion.

The year-on-year fall of the monthly GGR has narrowed over the past few months in the lead-up to a much-anticipated return of tourists on package tours from across the border.
