Real estate transactions drop by 31pct y-on-y in August

The number of real estate transactions reported in August of this year had dropped by 31 per cent year-on-year to some 532 transactions, while the average price per square meter has fallen by 13.4 per cent to some MOP101,150.

When compared to the previous month, transactions went down by 18 per cent, but average square meter prices rise by 1.2 per cent, data published today by the Financial Services Bureau (DSF) reveals

The highest fall in prices was reported in Taipa transactions, which went down by 11 per cent year-on-year to some MOP107,839 per square meter, with some 114 transactions reported, almost half of what was reported in the same month last year.

Concerning the Macau Peninsula, transactions have plunged by 26.4 per cent to some 381, with average square meter price falling by 9.6 per cent to some MOP97,370, the lowest reported in the SAR.
