Health authorities announced that the Royal Dragon Hotel in ZAPE will become the 10th hotel designated for medical observations.
The hotel, included in the hotel and gaming group headed by businessman Chan Meng Kam, will add 144 rooms to quarantine capacity.
The Macau SAR Government is temporarily using ten hotels as the venues of medical observations, including Pousada Marina Infante Hotel, Golden Crown China Hotel, Regency Art Hotel, Grand Coloane Resort, Metropole Hotel, Treasure Hotel, San Tung Fong Commercial Inn South Wing, Grand Lapa, Grand Harbour Hotel and Royal Dragon Hotel.
The operation of casinos in the referred hotels is suspended during the period they are used for the medical observations.
Authorities considered that the designated hotels are committed to social responsibility, providing support and coordination with the SAR Government for implementation of the measure of medical observation.
This week Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng launched an appeal to gaming operators to be “considerate”, at a time when the authorities are under “great pressure” to find hotels where residents can fulfil the demanded 14-day quarantine.
