The Health Bureau has indicated today that the ninth confirmed coronavirus case has been registered in Macau, the second resident to be infected so far.
The case involves a 29-year-old local woman who on January 24 had visited for four hours the house of the 64-year old woman previously said to be infected.
On the next day, she had fever and cough but the symptoms disappeared afterward.Â
Yesterday, she contacted health authorities and was sent to the public hospital for testing, which proved she had been infected with the new pneumonia virus. Her health condition was considered stable.
The Health Bureau’s disease prevention and control team are now investigating the woman’s epidemiological history and close contacts.
So far seven Hubei province residents infected in coronavirus have been reported, and now toe Macau residents.
