Thailand removes Macau from list of areas infected by the disease

Thailand has removed the People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macau) and South Korea from the list of foreign countries defined as areas infected by the covid-19 pandemic, a government tourism agency said on Saturday.

According to the Thai Tourism Authority (TAT), the announcement was made officially in the Royal Thai Gazette on Friday, citing that the pandemic situation of the new coronavirus, which causes the covid-19 disease, has improved in those two countries.

However, this does not mean that citizens of both countries will be able to immediately travel to Thailand.

According to Thailand’s current emergency decree, the closure of entry points (land, sea and air) in the country remain in effect until May 31.
