The current Typhoon Signal No.1 in effect may be replaced by a Signal No.3 between 3:00pm and 5:00pm of today (Tuesday), the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) indicated.
According to the weather department, local winds will strengthen as Typhoon Higos – which is currently at about 360 km southeast of the city – moves toward the western coast of Guangdong province.
