Macau | Chief Executive pledges to solve shortage of delivery drivers “as soon as possible”

Macau (MNA) – The Macau SAR Government has assigned the Talent Development Committee to carry out studies to solve the inadequate number of delivery drivers products in the city, the Chief Executive (CE), Fernando Chui Sai On, said on Thursday during his attendance of the plenary session of the Legislative Assembly (AL).

Indirectly elected legislator Kou Hoi In had made an interpellation asking the government about its strategies to cope with the shortage of drivers for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).

“Once the Committee completes the study, the result will be taken as the government’s standpoint [on the matter],” said the CE, noting that the result would allow more objectivity for the Standing Committee for the Co-ordination of Social Affairs to discuss the issue and lay out more effective measures.

The CE pledged to try his “best” to resolve the shortage of drivers “as soon as possible.”
