Macau | Former tenants of two land plots appeals to top court unsuccessful

Macau (MNA) – The Court of Final Appeal has ruled to maintain decisions made by the Macau SAR Government in evicting two companies from two different land plots.

According to a press release on Friday, the government declared a land concession near Lisboa Garden in Taipa expired in 2015 and mandated the former tenant of the land – Companhia de Investimento Predial Setefonte, Limitada – to evict the area.

The land in question occupies some 7,324 square metres, the press document wrote.

Meanwhile, the government had made a similar declaration over a land plot near Estrada Marginal da Ilha Verde on the Macau Peninsula in 2016 and the tenant – Companhia de Géneros Alimentícios Congelados Macau, Limitada – was also requested to evict the land.

The aforementioned land plot takes up some 4,440 square metres.

In both cases, the companies had lodged appeals to the top court after the Court of Second Instance had ruled to maintain government’s declaration.
