Macau | Labour Affairs Bureau urges Yat Yuen to ensure workers’ rights

Macau (MNA) – The Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) urged Macau (Yat Yuen) Canidrome Co. Ltd. to make proper compensation for its workers in the wake of its closure, a release on Monday stated.

DSAL had a meeting with the company’s workers today to provide employment advices.

After clearing of the premise at the Canidrome last Friday, DSAL has not received any complaints lodged by workers.

TDM Chinese Radio reported that Yat Yuen will continue to pay its workers until the end of this month.

The Bureau also revealed that it has received enquiries from the workers for the last two days asking about compensation after dismissal.

Yat Yuen officially moved out from the canidrome premises on the midnight of Friday, the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) took control of the property, announcing that the company will be fined under the Animal Protection Law for abandoning 533 greyhounds in the premises.
