Macau | Police reveals 19th domestic violence case this year

Macau (MNA)  – The Judiciary Police (PJ) announced on Tuesday they registered the 19th incident of domestic violence in the city since a new Domestic Violence Law was enacted in 2016.

The suspect has been sent to Publication Prosecution-office for accusation, this being the second case happened.

A 49-year-old Macau local resident, Iau, slapped his wife and burnt a cigarette butt on her because of family conflict. The suspect also intended to hurt her using meat cleaver since the victim agreed to divorce.

According to Police authorities, the family was living in Iao Hon district with a 4-year-old daughter and the 17-year-old step son of the suspect.

The 35-year-old wife was hospitalised after suffering from mild burns on her legs and damage to her eyes. Iau has been sent to MP for common assault accusation.
