Macau (MNA) – Photography works by Macau-based artist Tang Kuok Hou, the recipient of the 2017 Orient Foundation Art Award, are being exhibiting in Arte Periférica in Lisbon until October 2, according to a release by local Art For All Society (AFA).
The exhibition, dubbed Photosynthesis is displaying some 20 photographic works by the artist.
The initiative, launched on September 15, is sponsored by the Orient Foundation.
Tang works explore the effect of artificial illumination on the environment during nightfall.
This project has spanned a total of three years, involving research in Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Portugal.
Tang’s work draws on his sociology training, and involves a combination of factors dealing with a viewer’s urban experience.
Tang studied sociology during his university days in the University of Macau.
