Macau | MGS Entertainment Show to rebrand and add two event partners

Macau (MNA) – For its 2018 edition, the MGS Entertainment Show (MGS) will partner two new companies, namely Nam Kwong Culture and Creativity Industry Co. Ltd (Nam Kwong) and China National Machinery Industry International Co. Ltd (SINOMACHINT), as well as undergoing a name change.

The original Chinese name for MGS 2018 will be changed from 澳门娱乐展 (Macau Entertainment Exhibition) to 澳门休闲科技展 (Macau Leisure Technology Exhibition), in order to emphasise the diversification of the exhibition’s content from gaming machines to several non-gaming elements, particularly e-sports, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).

According to Jay Chun, President of the Macau Gaming Entertainment Manufacturers Association, the partnership with Nam Kwong will be a “long-term” one, later clarifying with media on the sidelines of the press conference held on Monday that this would be a three-year partnership to be reviewed after the period.

The main topics to be covered during MGS 2018 include the opportunities opened by Japanese integrated resorts, emerging markets and the future of gaming equipment.

Xiaodong Song, the Associate General Manager of Nam Kwong, told media that the company hopes to develop the promotion of leisure-related industries in Macau other than gaming, although the latter is considered a bigger boost to Macau’s gross domestic product (GDP).

MGS 2018 will continue its co-operation with Sina Games Channel for the second year running.

An event known as the Global Digital Entertainment Summit 2018 will be held concurrently with MGS 2018, and will include discussions on e-sports, leisure games and mobile games.

MGS 2018 will be held in the Cotai Expo in The Venetian Macao from November 13 to 15.
