Macau | Renovation of Million Dragon Hotel completed in two months

Macau (MNA) – The renovation of Hotel Lan Kwai Fong will be completed within two months, a spokesperson for Chan Meng Kam, the owner of the hotel, told Macau News Agency (MNA).

The Hotel acquired by the former legislator in January 2018 will also be renamed Million Dragon Hotel, as the gold inscription already featuring in the building façade shows under the green construction protection net (picture).

MNA could not obtain more details about the scope or the cost of renovation of the facilities, which has nearly 200 rooms, but has been told that the hotel is currently operational in spite of the works.

Located in the ZAPE district, across from the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), Lan Kwai Fong was sold to Mr. Chan by China Star Entertainment for a total consideration of HK$2 billion.

Jay Chun, the head of Paradise Entertainment Limited, had previously hold a four-month exclusivity period with China Star to accomplish the deal. Mr. Chan bought the hotel ten days after the exclusivity period was over.

At the time of the agreement in January, the casinos in the hotel were operated by licence holder Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM), with some 84 gaming tables and 65 slot machines.
