UPDATED – Another Golden Crown China Hotel security guard infected with COVID-19

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre revealed early this Saturday, September 25, that another COVID-19 case was detected, becoming the city’s 66th confirmed case.

Just like the case announced on Friday night, this patient is a 32-year-old Nepalese man, who works at the Golden Crown China Hotel as a security guard and was required to perform a nucleic acid test due to the detection of an imported case at the medical observation hotel.

The nucleic acid test was positive on Saturday (25th). The patient has already been referred to the Public Health Clinical Centre for in-depth diagnosis and treatment, with epidemiological investigation.

This infection is also related to the 64th case which was reported earlier on Friday of a 31-year-old male resident of Turkish nationality who tested positive for COVID-19 in a nucleic acid test carried out Thursday night and had arrived in Macau, via Singapore, from Turkey, on September 18th.

The acting Chief Executive has declared state of immediate prevention, starting from midnight as there is risk of a COVID-19 community outbreak following the 65th case, according to a press release issued by the Government Information Bureau.

Authorities also announced that starting from September 25, midnight, all outbound travellers must hold a proof of the latest 48 hours negative nucleic acid test
