AustCham to host talk on gaming law reform

Local lawyer André Santos Raquel will address Macau’s gaming law reform at a talk held by the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Macau (AustCham Macau) on April 27.

The upcoming instalment of the Power Hourseries features Mr Santos Raquel,  legal expert from JNV—Lawyers and Notaries, who will elaborate on the proposed amendments to the legal framework governing the city’s core industry.

After receiving first reading approval from the Legislative Assembly, the proposed amendment to the Legal Framework for the Operations of Casino Games of Fortune is undergoing an article-by-article panel review.

Meanwhile lawmakers have also given the initial green light on April 20 to another draft: a new bill on new regulations for junket entities, satellite casinos and sub-agents.

Legal expert André Santos Raquel will address the overhaul of the SAR’s gaming legal environment on April 27,at St. Regis Macao’s Astor Ballroom (Level 5), with attendance free of charge for AustCham members, while non-members will pay MOP100.

Doors will open at 6:15 pm with Mr Santos Raquel to hold his presentation at 6:35pm, followed by a Q&A session at 7:00pm.
