2018年10月,統計門戶Statistica調查發現登記在冊的本地流動電話用戶數量從2008年的396,000增加到2017年的743,000。國際電信聯盟(ITU)報告亦指,澳門的“蜂窩式流動電話用戶數目(每100名居民)”指數自2010年起在全球230個國家和地區中脫穎而出,佔據排行榜的領先地位。目前的澳門指數為321%,遠超香港——和我們最接近的競爭地——當地指數為240。同時,該機構2018年12月公佈的統計報告指出,澳門的移動網絡收費是全球最經濟實惠。
